A man was found hanged in the woods near Norden Fields, Rishton this morning.
Police officers were investigating a missing from home person when they made the discovery at around 5.45am.
DI Mark Winstanley, of Blackburn CID: "At about 5.45am this morning the body of a male was found in the woods near Norden Fields in Rishton. The body was found by police who had been responding to call about a male who had been missing in the area."
The male is thought to be 30-years-old and local.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
