A MAN has been arrested after police seized 76 suspected Ecstasy tablets from a house in Rishton.

Officers armed with a warrant searched a house in Burton Street on Saturday.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, and bailed pending further inquiries.

PC Johanna Bourne said: “This was a significant seizure and the tablets will now be sent off for further analysis.

“I hope that members of the public are reassured that we do act on information we receive and take offences such as this extremely seriously.”

Appealing to the local community for their continued help, she added: “We do need people to keep giving us information about people suspected of taking or dealing in drugs.

“If you suspect drug activity is taking place in your neighbourhood, please do something about it and contact the police on 0845 125 35 45 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
