A man was taken to hospital after his own van was reportedly “driven at him” outside an Oswaldtwistle pub.

Police said a 24-year-old man parked his Fiat Scudo van, got out of the vehicle and walked towards three men outside the Britannia pub.

One of the three males is reported to have entered the victim’s van and driven it at the man, causing him to collide with the bonnet and roof.

The van was driven off and later found abandoned on Haslingden Old Road on the motorway bridge over the M65.

Police said the other two men then made off from the scene. The victim suffered cuts and bruises and went to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.

Two of the males are described as white and one male is described as mixed race.
