A MASSIVE appeal has been launched in Hyndburn for household goods and medical supplies to send out to the disaster zone.
Pendle View Rotary Club is appealing for supplies such as painkillers, antibiotics, baby bottles, teats, cotton wool, sheets, sanitary towels, matches and candles.
It has teamed up with charity International Aid Trust to help the millions of people left homeless and destitute following the horrific disaster.

Accrington Rotary Club is making "emergency boxes" available to groups or individuals for £35. These can be filled with household goods such as cooking utensils, implements, clothing, sheeting, rope and tools.
Boxes will be collected and dispatched to the worst-hit areas; requests for boxes can be made by calling 01200 443993. An Aquabox30, which holds 36,000 litres of clean water, can also be bought for £250 and a shelter box, which contains a tent for 12 and equipment, costs £450.
Finally, the Lancashire Council of Mosques has launched an appeal to raise £150,000 to help the relief effort. It has set up an account at Lloyds TSB entitled LCM Relief Fund (account number 1969802; sort code: 30-90-87).
