THE PIE’S the limit for Burnley FC as they prepare for their maiden season in the Premier League.
And to wish the team good luck in their campaign in the top flight former sponsors Holland’s Pies have immortalised manager Owen Coyle in pastry.
It was made by Prudence Staite of Food is Art, who has also created Chris Moyles’ head out of chocolate and a picture of the Top Gear boys out of baked beans.
Standing at around two foot high and weighing around 60 kilos, the sculpture of Owen Coyle was made entirely out of pastry and has taken three weeks to complete.
It has now been part-baked with a special hand held tool, which means it should last for around two years. Holland’s Pies managing director Neil Court Johnson said: "We hope the pastry bust will act as a novel and fitting farewell gift to the club to help celebrate the man who made it all possible!"
As fresh meat to the top flight Burnley are current favourites to go down and are 500-1 to win the title.
