An Accrington man is among two men arrested after a man was stabbed in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called at around 3.45am on Wednesday morning, February 17 to reports of a fight at an address on Whitendale Crescent, Blackburn.

A 34-year-old man was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with a stab wound to his leg and other injuries to his head and body. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening and he remains in hospital.

A 26-year-old man from Accrington and a 38-year-old man from Blackburn were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent. Both are currently in custody.

DI Mark Vaughton, from Blackburn CID, said: “An investigation is underway to establish exactly how this man came about his injuries and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information that could assist with our ongoing enquiries to contact us.”
