Detectives have arrested two men in connection with the discovery of a man’s body at an address in Clayton-le-Moors, near Accrington.

Police were called to Rutland Close around 12.15pm on Monday where they discovered the badly decomposed body of a man which is believed to have been there for a significant period of time.

The body is yet to be formally identified and a post mortem examination will be carried out later today to establish the cause of death.

A major investigation is underway and a dedicated team of police officers and staff is working to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.

A 25-year-old man, from Blackburn, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 30-year-old man, also from Blackburn, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both men are currently in police custody and will be questioned by detectives.
