Nearly 1,000 people turned out to join in the fun at the annual Stanhill village fete.

The fete was held on Saturday, June 25 at West End Primary School on Aspen Lane in Oswaldtwistle.

As well as traditional fete stalls such as a coconut shy and games, activities to try on the day included a bouncy castle, children’s fancy dress competition.

A wide variety of stalls set up at the school for the village fete while there was live music and hot and cold refreshments available for visitors.

Richard Hooper, from the Stanhill Village Residents Association, said: “We had close to 1,000 people there on the day and even the changeable weather held out for us.

“The event was very successful and we raised a lot of money for local good causes and charities.”
