Our new office in the Accrington Market Hall has been officially opened by Mayor Malcolm Pritchard. The Accrington Observer announced last week the opening of its new office at the heart of the town.
Councillor Malcolm Pritchard said: "It’s absolutely brilliant being able to come down and open the new Accrington Observer office in the market hall and that the paper is back in the town where it belongs.
"I hope everybody coming here is well and truly happy about them coming back because it is a major positive and an important thing to have our own local paper.
"It’s really fantastic that we have got it back here. I’m sure people will find it a lot better and easier to get in contact with you."
You can find us at Unit N3 at the Accrington Market Hall.
To get to the office go through the market hall doors and up the stairs and we are directly opposite the Hyndburn Enterprise Trust.
It is open for members of the public to drop in and talk to our reporters, or drop off photos and letters.
Family notices and payments cannot be received at the new office.
Hyndburn Council has invested £2m in the market, which was recently voted Britain’s Best Indoor Market and has a wide range of goods and services.
Now the council is asking for members of the public to ‘Have Your Say’ on the newly-refurbished market.
Rob Grigorjevs, head of policy, partnerships and performance at the council, said: "All the best businesses listen to their customers.
"We are keen to hear what the people of Hyndburn have to say about the market so we can seek to improve what’s on offer."
To have your say please answer the following three questions:
- What is the best thing about Accrington Market?
- What makes you/would make you come to Accrington Market?
- What kind of goods do you expect/want to buy at Accrington Market?
Please return your responses to the market hall office or email email@example.com and include a contact name and telephone number.
Units are still available on the balcony level of the newly-refurbished Accrington Market Hall.
The Accrington Enterprise Haven features 21 incubator units purposely designed to provide town centre work space for new businesses.
