A play park has reopened after undergoing £60,000 worth of refurbishment works.

Accrington’s Bullough Park has a newly upgraded play area, featuring a host of features including trampolines, a basket swing, a cable runway, a challenging climbing frame and a rotating climbing net.

The play equipment was chosen with help from children from St Peter’s Primary. Funding for this new facility has been raised by the Hyndburn Green Spaces Forum and grants have been awarded by the Lancashire Environmental Fund with a contribution of £30,000 and Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation who have donated £2,000.

Hyndburn council also contributed £28,000 towards the improvements.

Cath Holmes, of the Hyndburn Green Spaces Forum, said: “I’d like to say thanks to the many people involved in fundraising and also the local school children who have all helped to make this a reality for other local children and their families”.

Annabelle Maudsley, 10, said: ”I love the climbing frame, I especially like the double barred slide.”
