LOVELORN Paul Hitchen has attracted replies from a number of young women keen to take up his offer of an all-expenses-paid trip to New York with £2,000 spending money.
But many girls may have thought the story in last week's Observer was an April Fool joke and have not yet put their names forward.
The article has attracted national media interest but Paul, 36, has turned down offers to appear on TV.
The high-flying IT consultant from Huncoat told last week of how he had missed out on romance and was hoping to find Miss Right with the help of the Observer.
He is looking for a warm-hearted Lancashire lass and his ideal date would be a good laugh, slim, in her mid-to-late 20s or early 30s, easy-going and a non-smoker.
Paul himself is five feet 10 inches tall and of medium build. He says his ideal women is Kelly Brook but assured readers he was looking for Miss Right, not Miss Perfect.
He said: "The offer is quite genuine and above board with no strings attached. I'll treat the girl to a long weekend in New York, staying in separate rooms in a high-class hotel, and give her 2K to spend."
If you are interested write to the Observer at 103 Blackburn Road, Accrington, marking the envelope New York Date.
We will pass all the replies on to Paul who says he will probably meet those who appeal to him for a drink to break the ice before deciding who to take to the Big Apple.
