GENEROUS fund-raisers helped make £400 for our Accrington Pals appeal by organising a charity night at the Willow Mount Working Men’s Club.

The event was originally set to be a Burns Night celebration but organisers from the Nag’s Head Volunteers had to abandon the idea as they were unable to find a piper in time.

Instead, they held a night of entertainment which included a raffle, tombola and the Guys and Dolls singers, who performed a number of songs from the 1940s. Guests also enjoyed bingo and a hotpot supper.
