Organisers of the annual Accrington Pals memorial service are aiming to include as many relatives as possible.

The service commemorates the events, which took place 100 years ago, when the Pals Battalion held their Valedictory Service.

Captain Shelley Whitehead, of the Lancashire Army Cadet Force, said: “We are hoping to involve as many relatives of Pals in the service and so please can you let me know, if this relates to you, that you would like to be involved.”

The service will take place on Sunday, February 22 at St John’s with St Augustine’s Parish Church, Accrington.

Attendees are being asked to be seated by 2.30pm for the 2.45pm service.

Disabled access to the church is available via the vestry and is signposted from Dowry Street.
