A PEDESTRIAN was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital after being hit by a car in Accrington.

The 60-year-old, who has not been named was walking down Plantation Street when he was involving in an accident with a silver Renault car shortly after 10am on Wednesday.

Paramedics were called to the scene and took the man to the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
