A witness appeal has been launched after a woman was left with part of her ear lobe 'completely severed' in a pub assault last month.
The incident happened at around 10.15pm on Tuesday, 28 October at the Railway pub on Blackburn Road in Accrington.
Lancashire Police said it is believed that a 38-year-old woman was attacked whilst in the toilets of the pub by another woman.
She was left with serious bite injuries to her face and left ear, with part of her lobe being completely severed.
She was also left with scratches, bruising and clumps of hair missing from her head.
Officers are keen to trace any other woman that may have been in the toilets at the time of the incident.
DC Neil Pugh, of Blackburn Police, said: “This was a nasty attack and I would urge any woman that may have seen what happened to get in touch with us to help us with our enquiries.”
A 44 year old local woman was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and was bailed until December pending further enquiries.
