Police are appealing for witnesses following an arson in Accrington over the weekend.
Officers were called to a house fire on Hood Street at around 8.20pm on Saturday, August 9.
Neighbouring residents were evacuated from their homes while the Fire Service attended the scene.
The property is believed to be unoccupied and no persons were found inside.
The property suffered extensive smoke and fire damage as a result of the incident.
It is believed that an offender left the house via the back alley of Hood Street after setting fire to household items inside.
DC Louise Briggs of Blackburn CID, said: “We think that this fire was started deliberately and it is fortunate that no one was hurt as a result.
“I would appeal to those who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the fire, or similarly anyone with any information at all that may assist us with finding whoever was responsible, to contact me on 01254 353549.
