TEENAGERS have been warned to be on their guard after a man groped a 15-year-old girl in a daylight attack in Oswaldtwistle.

The girl was left shaken and upset following the incident in Stanhill Lane on Monday at around 6pm.

She has helped police put together this sketch of the offender, who was travelling in a large white van with a group of other men at the time.

The van had the word Enterprise emblazoned across the back in black letters.

She was indecently assaulted after the men called the girl over as they were lost and needed directions. One of the men got out of the van and grabbed her breast.

DS Paul Murphy, from Accrington CID, said: "The girl ran home and informed her parents and the police attended. She was quite shaken by the incident.

"At the end of the day a 15-year-old girl should be able to walk along the street and not have to worry about this sort of thing happening."

The offender was white, in his late 30s to early 40s, around 5ft 4ins tall with a pointed nose.

He was described as having "bright eyes" and had a bald or shaved head with a sun-tanned face.

DS Murphy added: "We want to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or if you know the identity of the offender or the location of the vehicle to contact us."

If you can help, contact DC Mark Winstanley at Accrington CID on 01254 353740.
