Police are warning residents to lock their doors and windows before going to bed following a series of burglaries.



Raiders broke into a house on Lowergate Road, Huncoat between 11pm on Sunday, March 20 and 6am on Monday, March 21. They stole £300 before fleeing.



In a separate incident thieves stole an I-phone worth £400, a laptop worth £300, £150 in cash and a £40 handbag after breaking into a property on Meadow Close in Huncoat between 10pm on Sunday, March 20 and 6am on Monday, March 21.



Nursery End on Church Lane, Clayton-le-Moors was broken into at around 8.30pm on March 18.



Nothing was taken but £300 of damage was caused. Police said they are trying to identify one male who has been seen on CCTV footage.



Sgt Simon Holderness, of Accrington Police, said: “We are urging residents to lock doors and windows before going to bed.”
