A 110-plant cannabis factory worth £44,000 has been discovered in the cellar of a house in Oswaldtwistle.

Police raided the house on Union Road at around 8.45am on Wednesday, September 14 after receiving a call from a utility company who were carrying out a warrant at the address.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Sgt Craig Shaw said: "This was a significant set up and the action will have significantly disrupted the supply of cannabis in the Hyndburn area.

"Anyone with information or concerns about cannabis in their neighbourhood should contact their local Neighbourhood Policing Team."

CANNABIS worth £14,000 has been seized during police raids in Great Harwood and Blackburn.

Six plants and around 50 tablets were found at a house on Loynd Street, Great Harwood on Friday, September 16.

Officers also found 30 mature cannabis plants, lighting, fans and cultivation equipment in the bedroom of a house on Limbrick Road, Blackburn.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering after another raid on Carlinghurst Road, Blackburn.

The action came after members of the public raised concerns to Neighbourhood Policing Teams.

Enquiries continue to find out who was responsible for the cannabis factories and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Community Beat Manager PC Steve Dundon said: "We have taken action to remove drugs from our communities and I hope people are reassured that we do act on information we receive.

"We rely on information from the public and I urge anyone who is concerned about drug dealing to contact us."
