Detectives in Accrington have released an E-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a cash in transit robbery.

At around 11am on Friday, January 28 a female employee of G4S security was making a delivery at the HSBC bank on Blackburn Road.

She was confronted by a man wearing a hooded top who pushed into her with force before snatching the cash box.

He escaped on foot with a significant amount of cash in the direction of Birch Street.

Fortunately, the woman wasn’t injured during the incident, although she was left incredibly shaken.

The lone offender is believed to be white, aged in his early twenties and of medium build.

He was wearing a dark hooded top with dark track suit bottoms, with the hood pulled up over his face. He was also carrying a black holdall.

Detective Inspector Mark Vaughton said: “We are currently following up a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this robbery, but I would now urge anybody who may recognise the man in the Evofit to contact police.

“I am also still keen to speak with anyone who spotted anything suspicious in the Blackburn Road area either the night before the robbery or in the days leading up to it. Any amount of information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be crucial to this inquiry and I would urge people to come forward."

Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 0845 1 253545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
