A major haul of more than 200 cannabis plants have been uncovered by police during a search in Great Harwood.

PC Vicky Wilson and PCSO Chris McKiernan from the Neighbour Team executed a drug warrant at St Lawrence Street with the assistance of the Operations Support Unit.

When they entered the premises they discovered the factory containing 240 mature cannabis plants.

No arrests have been made as yet.

PC Vicky Wilson said: “We found around 240 cannabis plants at an address on St Lawrence Street following the execution of a drugs warrant.

“It was thanks to members of the community that we were able to find this illegal set up and seize the plants, taking them out of the hands of criminals.

“Cannabis can have lasting physical and mental health effects on users as well as having a negative effect on our communities and fuelling other crime and we are determined to tackle that.

“We need the public to continue to work with us to help us tackle drug crime by informing us of any suspicious activity.
