A new post office local service is being launched in Accrington.

The new Post Office local service will open at the premises on Avenue Parade on April 28 and the terminal will be beside the till.

The Avenue Parade post office will be closed on Saturday, April 11 at 12.30pm for the refurbishment to take place.

During this short period of closure post office services may be accessed from any convenient Post Office branch, including Blackburn Road.

Once completed, the Post Office services will be available during the store’s opening hours, including 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

The opening times, which will increase by 32 hours a week, will ensure that the branch is much more convenient.

Julie Kemp, area manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”

Local residents and small business customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns and online banking.
