A SUB-POSTMASTER has appeared before Hyndburn magistrates charged with sexually touching a pregnant teenager.

Alan Holden, 59, lives and works at the Dill Hall Lane Post Office in Church, where the incident is alleged to have taken place last October.

He was bailed on condition he does not contact the alleged victim or three witnesses.

Previous conditions which meant he had to report to the police station every Wednesday, live at his home on Dill Hall Lane and surrender his passport were lifted to allow him to go on a pre-booked holiday in three weeks time.

Mr Graeme Parkinson, defending, said Holden denied the offence and intended to plead not guilty. He had no intention of absconding because he wanted to clear his name.

The case was adjourned until 27 June.
