Probe launched after man wounded by air pistol pellet

Armed response police vehicles were sent to Walton Street near the Greyhound Ford Garage at 1.40pm on Tuesday.

An investigation is underway after a 22-year-old man was injured by an air pistol pellet in Accrington yesterday.

Armed response police vehicles were sent to Walton Street near the Greyhound Ford Garage at 1.40pm on Tuesday.

The man is currently being treated for minor abdominal injuries at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Police will be speaking to the 22-year-old to try and establish what happened.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
