DINERS are seeing double at the Game Cock Inn, Great Harwood, as the pub beer garden has become home to a wild cockerel - identical to the one on the pub sign.
The cockerel, named Colin by pub staff, first appeared at the Whalley Road hostelry a few months ago and since then has become a real hit with customers after setting up a nest in the garden.
Pub manager Marc Williams, said: "Colin just turned up and we decided to adopt him. He is very friendly and we feed him pieces of bread which he seems to like. Often when people come to the pub they think he's a statue as he sometimes hangs around the door and stands very still. But then he crows which takes them by surprise.
"He crows a lot in fact but we are not sure whether it is a territorial thing or whether it is just because he wants feeding. I think he just likes a lot of attention."
