Detectives have released CCTV images of raiders who burst into a Bargain Booze store and threatened a woman with hammers and a crowbar.

The incident happened on June 6 this year between 9.45pm and 10pm at the off licence on Union Street in Oswaldtwistle.

The armed robbers approached a 20-year-old staff member as she was tilling up before a customer entered and disturbed them.

They ended up fleeing with around £2,000 of cigarettes and cash.

Accrington CID are now appealing for witnesses.

CCTV images show the robbers in action.

Detective Sergeant Paul Langley from Accrington CID said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or spotted something suspicious to come forward and contact us.

“I would also ask people to look at the images we have released and see if the recognise any of the men. This is a serious incident and although nobody was hurt, the shop assistant was left shaken and the people responsible need to be caught.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Accrington CID on 0845 1 25 35 45 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
