Nearly 20 households have objected to plans to build a 31-home development.
Residents on Foxwood Chase, Deer Park and Badgers Close, in Huncoat, have written to the council after developer Morris Homes submitted an application to create the development on land off Foxwood Chase.
The scheme would include a mixture of two and three-bed semi-detached and three and four-bed detached houses, with around 20 per cent being affordable homes.
A new ‘ecology zone’ would also be created in the south-east corner of the site to off-set the removal of some nearby woodland.
However, residents have expressed privacy concerns over a planned cycle path and footway to Peel Park, as well as worries over an increase in pollution and flooding risks and a loss of local wildlife.
The complaints also highlighted the removal and loss of trees and bushes and fears over an increase in traffic in the area.
Morris Homes said consultation has been carried out with residents and the scheme would meet housing needs.
