Father Christmas is coming to Hyndburn for a three-week tour.

Members and friends of the Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle will help him travel around the area on a sleigh tour.

Organisers said the sleigh has been refurbished and looks ‘very smart’ with its new livery and illuminated signs and improved sound system.

Ian McTurk, president of the club, said: “Rotarians and friend of Rotary Philip Wardle have done a magnificent job carrying out the work at weekends to really improve the appearance of the sleigh.

“Also it is very pleasing that during the next three weeks all club Rotarians will be helping out on the various roles to ensure a successful outcome.”

Ken Freeman, chairman of fundraising for the club, said they hope to raise in excess of £3,000 for local, national and international charities and good causes.

Father Christmas will travel all over Church and Oswaldtwistle until Thursday, December 18 including Knuzden, West End and Belthorn.

He will also visit the Asda Accrington store on Saturday, December 13 and the Tesco Accrington on Saturday, December 21, both from 10am to 4pm.
