Dancing star H Jones thought his dream of performing with some of the worlds biggest names in dance was shattered after suffering a suspected broken leg just a week before his big show.

The 11-year-old from Clayton-le-Moors was left devastated after he fell at school a week before he was set to perform at Accrington Town Hall on Saturday as part of the Time to Dance show.

But H and his dance partner Demi Kay will still be able to take to the stage with TV’s Strictly Come Dancing stars James and Ola Jordan and Ian Waite and Camilla Dallerup after being given the all clear.

H was taken to The Royal Blackburn Hospital after falling at school last week where nurses put a pot on his leg and told H he had a suspected broken leg.

All but ending his dancing hopes H’s mum Jill booked him in to see a consultant on Monday. And he was delighted to tell him that the injury was better than first feared and that he had only chipped the front of his leg.

Jill said: "They have been practising really hard for about six months for this. Then after H hurt his leg they were both absolutely gutted that they couldn’t take part.

"It wasn’t a very nice feeling going into the consultants office but I could of kissed him when he told us the good news!

"H practically danced out of the room."

H and Demi, who is from Oswaldtwistle, have been dancing together after meeting two years ago at Dance Force Studios in Darwen where they spend up to 12 hours a week training.

Jill, who came up with her son’s unusual name when she was pregnant, said her son had been bullied at school but found his confidence when he started dancing.

She added: "I hope he will show these bullies on Saturday that he will make something of his life unlike those who picked on him."
