Police in Accrington are trying to trace the driver of a BMW who failed to stop after being involved in a collision with another car.

At around 8pm on Wednesday, September 21 a blue Vauxhall Corsa was damaged extensively after it was in a collision with a BMW convertible on Essex Road towards Burnley Road.

The BMW did not stop and left the scene.

PC Mick Dewhurst said the driver of the Corsa only received minor injuries and he is extremely keen to trace the driver of the BMW.

He said: "I would appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, anyone who may have any information about the car or indeed the driver to come forward and contact police."
