A YOUNG mum has stormed to victory in our great Face of Spex competition.
Stunning Hanna Rawcliffe, 20, of Queensway, Church, fought off strong competition to win terrific prizes of £250, an introduction to a top modelling agency, a photographic portfolio and a framed portrait worth £300.
Hanna, who lives with her partner Michael Hinett and nine-month-old son Levi, was shortlisted from nearly 40 entrants by a readers' vote before being chosen by a panel headed by Spex owner Kevin Horkin.
The former pupil of Mount Carmel High School, Accrington, said: "I can't believe it. I'm so shocked but it's really exciting. My friends and family suggested I enter even though I don't normally wear glasses.
"People have suggested I should try and do some modelling before but I don't have a big head and I never thought I could. It was great to make it to the final, never mind winning the overall competition."
The winner of the under-18s group, was Alexandria Jade Driver, 16, of Spring Meadows, Clayton-le-Moors, who narrowly missed out on the overall title but will receive a £100 Spex voucher or a pair of designer sunglasses and photographs to the value of £65.
A prize presentation will be arranged in the near future.
