A utility vehicle was stolen from a secure compound in Baxenden and left ablaze on an old railway line.

Firefighters were called to the old track at the end of Hurstead Street at around 1am on Monday, May 19.

Crew manager Steve Marshall said: “They had taken the utility vehicle and driven it onto the railway lines before setting it on fire."
