The A Level exam results are out and we want to hear your good news stories.

Hundreds of sixth form age students from the borough were due to be making their way to schools and colleges on Thursday morning to find out if they make made the grade in the A Level exams.

Next week, schools across the borough will see an influx of students for GCSE results day.

One of the schools in the borough with an A Level age cohort is Accrington Academy, whose headteacher gave the Observer a sneak preview as we went to press.

Andy O’Brien said: “We’ve achieved another set of fantastic results and we’re delighted.

“Ninety per cent of vocational studies students have got distinctions.”
