Sporting students took part in a variety of activities during a ‘sports and fitness week’.

Children in each class at St Peter’s CE Primary school in Accrington focused on a different sport to research and the reception class focused on healthy bodies.

A coaching company visited the school on Cartmel Avenue and sporting activities included tag rugby, dodgeball, street dance, athletics, volleyball, body-zorbing and vigour-boarding.

A martial arts expert also spoke to the youngsters and gave them a demonstration.

Debbie Astley, from the school, said it was a great week.

She added: “The whole infant department enjoyed a day at Hyndburn Sports Centre and took part in go-carting, bouncy castle, football skills and gymnastics.

“All the children enjoyed themselves and learned lots.”

The school has also raised £390 for Children in Need.
