Looking for something that little bit different to do in the summer holidays? Hyndburn Borough Council and Leisure in Hyndburn are giving young people in the area a chance to get active and adventurous.

They're offering the chance to have a go at kayaking, archery, climbing and a mobile high ropes activity.

The activities will be available for young people to try out on Monday August 2 between 1pm and 7pm at Hyndburn Leisure Centre.

Hyndburn Borough Council is funding the day to ensure that all who want to take part can do so free of charge.

Peter Britcliffe, Leader of the Council said: "The Active Adventure Day is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the borough to try out something exciting and something they wouldn't think of usually participating in.

"The Council is pleased to be involved and hopes that the day turns out to be a lot of fun and makes young people aware of the exciting activities that are available to them."

Kayaking requires booking, with places going fast. Call 01254 380286 to reserve a place. It is advised that participants wear tracksuit bottoms, trainers and a t-shirt to ensure that they can go on all activities.
