BODY art is said to be addictive but for one Accrington teenager it has proved a bit of a pain.
Mallory Draycott had hoped to get the words "Totally Addictive..." emblazoned on her stomach.
Unfortunately, following a mix-up between her and the tattooist, she ended up with something quite different.
Instead of "Addictive", the red-faced 18-year-old now has the word "Additive" tattooed on her midriff.
Mallory, of Whalley Road, Accrington, explained she had been unsure how to spell the word, so the tattooist had looked it up in the dictionary.
"I didn't notice it myself," she said. "I was showing my dad and he pointed it out. I wanted to scream when I realised. It's so embarrassing.
"I've been told that the only thing I can do is to have it covered up with another really dark tattoo, which means I'm going to have to end up with something I don't really want."
Mike Leigh, of the Accy Tattoo Centre in Whalley Road, where Mallory had the tattoo done, said he had written out the phrase and checked and double-checked it with Mallory before starting work.
He said: "She couldn't spell it so I wrote it out and asked her to check it.
"She said it was OK and when I put the transfer on she even looked at it in the mirror and said she was happy with it.
"I've offered to sort it out for her.
"She plans to draw her own design. Whatever she brings back we will do over the top free of charge."
