A STUDENT from Great Harwood who suffered serious head injuries after she was involved in a road smash in Manchester has died in hospital.

A STUDENT from Great Harwood who suffered serious head injuries after she was involved in a road smash in Manchester has died in hospital.

Vicki Spear was in collision with a taxi on Wilmslow Road just before the junction with Egerton Road in Fallowfield at 3.50am on Sunday.

She was rushed to Hope Hospital, Manchester where she lost her fight for life yesterday afternoon.

The 47-year-old driver of the taxi was not injured.
