A teenager who slapped a woman across the face with a fish in a supermarket has written a letter of apology to the victim.

The Observer reported in February how a youngster approached a shop worker on the fish counter at Asda in Accrington and struck her across the face with a large bream before running out of the store.

Police said a 13-year-old girl was spoken to by officers and has taken part in a community resolution where she sent the victim a letter of apology.

A spokesperson said: “The matter has therefore been resolved and is now closed. There will be no more police involvement.”
