Nursery children got a glimpse of the world of policing when they had a visit from the long arm of the law last week.

Children at Earlystart Nursery on Tennyson Avenue in Oswaldtwistle were visited by PCSO Rikky Gallacher and PC Kat Stokes.

The officers spoke with two groups, showing them all their uniform and handing out bright be seen stickers and teddy bears.

They also told the two and three year-olds about their job and what the police do and how they keep them safe.

PCSO Rikky Gallacher said:"We handed out be seen stickers, keyrings and badges and they made police badges on their own and also drew up some pictures of the police for us to bring back to the station.

"The whole morning went very well and we think the children liked us being there and enjoyed the goodies we handed out as well as trying on our uniform and playing with our radios."
