Traditional pies were on offer as Hyndburn celebrated Lancashire Day.

Holland's Pies provided shoppers in Accrington town centre with free pies to mark the annual event yesterday.

Town Crier Rawden Kerr read the Lancashire Day proclamation outside the Accrington Town Hall and was joined by Holland's Pies chef Tom Bridge, Mayor Munsif Dad and council leader Miles Parkinson.

Mr Kerr also read out the proclamation in Great Harwood outside Churchfield House later the same day.

Coun Dad said: “As a proud Lancastrian and this year as Mayor of Hyndburn I was honoured to celebrate Lancashire Day on November 27.”

Coun Parkinson added: “Many thanks to everyone who came along to help us celebrate Lancashire Day and to Holland’s Pies for their support of the event.”
