Police are appealing for information after a van containing medication worth more than £10,000 was stolen in Rishton.

The theft took place at around 1pm on Thursday, October 16, when the plain white Mercedes Sprinter was parked outside High Street Medical Centre on High Street.

The van which had no company names on the side contains medical vaccines, including flu vaccinations and child vaccinations, to the value of more than £10,000.

Police said the driver had left the vehicle with keys inside when visiting the medical centre and when he returned saw it being driven away by an unknown male.

There are no controlled drugs on board. The van was last sighted on junction 7 of the M65, heading towards junction 8.

Sgt Sean Frodsham said: “I would ask the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the van, registration number RX13JAU, to police. I would also urge anyone who may have any information about the theft to contact us on 101.”
