GREAT Harwood enjoyed a taste of Europe at the weekend when a continental market rolled into town.
Crowds flocked to the three-day event at Towngate Square where traders from Germany, France, Holland, Spain and Belgium offered goods such as meats, pates, herbs, spices, olives, French bread, Belgian chocolate, cheeses and fashions from Paris.
Councillor Marlene Haworth, Cabinet portfolio holder for markets, said: "The continental market was a huge success and we've had lots of good feedback from happy visitors who loved the bright, colourful stalls with their wonderful range of continental goodies.
"Obviously the whole thing was made even better by the beautiful weather which really added to the open-air continental feel of the market.
"Stallholders were particularly impressed by how welcome they were made to feel by Great Harwood businesses and we are so pleased with it we are hoping to make it an annual event."
