Golfers put on a ‘thriller’ of a show to raise money for a cancer charity.

The Accrington Golf Club ladies dressed up as zombies and performed a dance routine to the Michael Jackson hit at a special Ladies Extravaganza in aid of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

It was one of a number of events held at the club over the last 12 months, raising £3,655.77.

June Crossley, lady captain, said: “This is something we have done for the last two or three years.

“Each table on the night has a theme and everybody chooses a song from a show and does a routine.

“Our group chose Thriller and it went fantastically well. Everybody was practising it for ages and thought it would be good fun to do it.

“They are ladies from the Cummins Mellor Group and always like to get dressed up and it went down really well. On that night alone we raised £850 as we had a huge prize draw with lots of donations from businesses.”

A cheque was handed over to Rosemere Cancer Foundation area representative Dan Hill by Club captain Bill Fleck and June Crossley.
