WET and cool overall despite some fine days. There was 21 per cent extra rain, the bulk of which fell in the third week, making it the wettest September since 2000.
This kept the sunshine total down to only average, in fact the dullest for nine years. An unsetlled month with seven troughs of low pressure.
The second week was relatively fine and dry but the temperatures did not soar.
No ground frosts and only one windy day - the highest gust being 24mph on the 24th.
