We're back where we belong. The Accrington Observer is this week delighted is delighted to announce the opening of its new office at the heart of the town.

We are opening the new office in Accrington Market Hall. It is open for members of the public to drop in and talk to our reporters, or drop of photos and letters.

Accrington Observer editor Gareth Tidman said: "We are delighted to back in the heart of the community. We have been determined to move back as soon as we were able to.

"The market hall is a fantastic location and a hub of activity. I would like to invite all our readers to pay us a visit and tell us what is on their mind."

Next year we are celebrating 125 years of the Accrington Observer.

Council leader Peter Britcliffe said: "It’s great news to have the Observer back beating at the heart of Accrington. I am genuinely delighted that the paper is back in the town.

"The Observer is a very important part of our community and it’s a key way for us to find out what’s happening in our community.

"I am also pleased to see they are taking up office in the newly restored market hall.

"It’s a great place for them right at the vibrant heart of Accrington."

Hyndburn Mayor Malcolm Pritchard said: "I'm delighted that the Observer is coming back to Accrington as that is what the paper is about.

"We want to see more local news as it's a paper for local people."

Councillor Marlene Haworth, cabinet member for markets, said: "I think it’s absolutely brilliant that the Observer is back in Accrington where it belongs and to be in the market hall is just absolutely fabulous."

Hyndburn MP Graham Jones said: "I think it’s really good news that the paper is returning and will have a base in Accrington."

To get to the office go through the market hall doors and up the stairs and we are directly opposite the Hyndburn Enterprise Trust.
