A 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital after a car collision in Oswaldtwistle.

Emergency services were called to New Lane at around 3.30pm on Monday, June 6.

Lancashire Police said the collision involved a white Ford and a grey Peugeot near Immanuel Church.

A Hyndburn fire station spokesperson said: “A crew from Hyndburn and a crew from Blackburn attended a road traffic accident on New Lane, Oswaldtwistle involving two cars.

“A female occupant had to be cut free by firefighters. The injuries of the female are not thought to be life threatening.”

Oswaldtwistle councillor Peter Britcliffe, who lives on New Lane, said: “It looked like quite a nasty and dramatic collision.

“One can only hope the young lady involved was not hurt too badly.”
