A woman has been arrested on suspicion of trying to bite another woman's ear off in a pub toilet.
Police and paramedics were called to The Railway pub on Blackburn Road in Accrington at around 10.20pm on Tuesday, October 28.
The victim was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with ear injuries and a 44-year-old woman from Accrington was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.
She remains in custody.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.22pm to reports of a woman who had been assaulted in a toilet.
“It is believed one female tried to bite the ear of another woman.
“She has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and remains in custody.”
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said the injured woman suffered an ear injury.
She said: “There are no reports of unconsciousness or severe bleeding. It was an unpleasant but minor injury.”
