Detectives said a woman had her bag snatched as she walked along 'Black path' in Accrington.

The 38-year-old woman was on the secluded path that runs parallel to Blackburn Road and the railway at around 11.30am when a man ran up from behind her and grabbed hold of her handbag

The offender then ran off with the black handbag which had around £250 inside.

DC Louise Briggs said: “I would appeal to anybody with any information or anyone who has witnessed this incident to contact Accrington CID on 01254 353744.”

The man is described as being Asian, around 20 or 21 years old and between 5ft 8 and 5ft 9' tall with a slim build.

He was wearing a dark blue zipped up hoody with black track suit bottom.

The right leg had a white pattern and he was wearing white trainers.
