A WOMAN was accidentally shot in the neck during a barbecue last weekend.
The 43-year-old, attended the event in George Street, Great Harwood, on Saturday evening but did not realise she had been shot until she got back home.
It is thought that she had been hit as guests at the barbecue handled the gun without realising that it was loaded.
The woman was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary, where it was confirmed that she had been shot and police were informed of the incident.
A 33-year-old man was arrested as a result of police inquiries but was released without further action.
The woman may have to undergo surgery to remove the pellet.
