The first snow of the season arrived this weekend and you’ve been sending us in your pictures of the white out across Hyndburn.

Children took full advantage of the weekend snow, including some who descended on Oakhill Park, Pendle Hill, the Coppice and Oswaldtwistle Moor armed with sleds as temperatures dipped as low as minus one over the weekend.

However, the Met Office says there is no sign of a repeat of this weekend’s snow flurries to come.

Forecaster Emma Sharples said the cold snap will begin to ease towards the weekend.

She said: “We’re heading into a spell of fairly quiet weather, the outlook is dry with a few spells of rain around but towards the end of the week we will see a weather system moving in from the Atlantic with the weather starting to turn less cold.”
